  • New: Apple Foundation Models (macOS 26+). Go to Settings > AI Services and click the plus (+) button to set it up. Tip: you can configure an AI Workflow to use Apple Foundation Models for free, 100% offline writing assistance. Note: tools are currently not supported for Apple Foundation Models.
  • New: Advanced keyboard shortcuts. Go to Settings > Shortcuts to customize (e.g., new chat window, new temporary chat window, activate BoltAI chat, focus composer, regenerate response, copy last AI response, copy last AI response & close, edit last user message).
  • New: Instant Workflow. Freely type your prompt in the Workflow Palette and trigger it immediately instead of using a pre-defined workflow.

  • Smarter selection capture. Hotkeys and the palette use a new PID-targeted copy helper that activates the frontmost app, restores your clipboard, and reduces empty-selection glitches.
  • Workflow input fidelity. App context and pre-captured selection/clipboard are handed through more consistently when running workflows or launching previews, tightening “what you see is what you send.”

  • Inline workflow AI output. Workflows can now generate answers directly using your configured provider/agent before applying output actions, with smarter provider/model resolution and safer selection capture; agent-specific settings are now respected.
  • Workflow Palette polish. New headless mode for “no preview” workflows, Ctrl+N/Ctrl+P navigation, direct preview launch for a chosen workflow, and clearer progress overlay while runs complete.

  • Temporary Chats. Quick Compose and the Companion window can now spin up session-only chats that purge automatically, keep attachments sandboxed, and can be saved as full conversations if you need to keep the thread.
  • Instant Chat Bar preferences. A new settings pane lets you tune reset timing, auto-attachment sources, shake-to-open sensitivity, appearance overrides, and whether Quick Compose always starts in temporary mode for solo or multi-agent runs.

  • Added MCP support. BoltAI supports both remote MCP servers (synced with BoltAI Cloud) and local MCP servers (local-only, configured at ~/.boltai/mcp.json). In v2, you can select individual tools from a server instead of enabling the entire set.
